THe Fifth Day

Today, the fifth day, we went to the Cowboy Hall of Fame and to several mediacal libraries. It was a great end to a great trip.

Today we read to kids. I got to read to a kid named Tr, and then a boy named Ben read to me. They got pick out some books and keep them. I liked it a lot. Felt kindof needed. Then we went to the Devon Energy Center. We go to see all the files they keep. I think it would be kind of fun to work there, but not for life. I wouldn't like working in an office all the time even though you get to walk around a bunch. I think I will still go see if I can find a library or something like that in a psychiatrict ward. Or someplace like that. I still think I could have a fun and exciting day there. I mean someone has to work with those people, right? Tonight we are going to a heritage center. Not sure which one. I think that will be fun. It is supposed to be an early night. Looking forward to that. I am tired.

My second kid was freakin' cool. His name is Alden(I know, awesome right?) and he picked the book The Lightning Thief because it was thick(to him) and had mythology in it. He'll get places in life with thick books. I wish him well.

The Fourth Day of Camp WEEEEE lol

Today I had so much fun I just don't reme- Oh yeah we went to this place called Devon and some other places too. ~**MR.HOUSE**~

my last day

2 day was really cool!! first we went and read to some kids, then we went and gave books to a gifted and talented club and they also read to us, and then we went and ate at Mazzios pizza, and THEN we went to Devon's place thingy....they gave us these really cool gifts like a light up pen and a mini flashlight and a stress ball!! the only bad thing is i have to leave tomorrow because my family just found out my dad has to go on a business trip and i wanna see him before he leaves! i hope you all have a great rest of camp!

So..... today we read to little kids. it was fun. we ate at Mazzio'sfor lunch then went to Devon. it was interesting. after that we went back to the college, ate at the atkinson heritage center, then went to the hotel.the end.

Day 4

Today we went to Devon and got a tour. They have files and things in the building. It waz soo cool. I waz on the green team. We also went to a church and school and read to kids and gave away books. I read to Grace/Cherish and a girl named Rachel. It waz soo fun. At mazzio's (where we went 4 lunch) Skylar and emily took the last cheese pizzas and I couldn't eat much until they came out w/ another batch. Thanks guys!!!!!(I am being sarcastic)

Hey, Today we went to two schools and we read with kids. That was fun. Then we went to Mazzio's Pizza which was really good. I like pizza. lol :) Then we went to Devon a oil company which was cool. Well thats all so cya!

the 4th day

We were able to go through some Devon buildings. They had oil and other records stored in the building. Several people gave us tourers, which were interesting. They showed us different parts of the building that do several different things. They also showed us two films. We ate at Mazzios which was good. We also went to two different library programs and read to/ listented to students read. It was a fun day.

Fourth Day of IMC

Today we passed out the books we bought with grant money for the elementary children. We passed books out first at a Methodist Chuch's gymnasium to an after school program then at an elementary building for a Gifted an Talented class. After passing out books to the kids, we went to tour Devon's Record and Information Management. Another good day.

Day 4

Today we visited two different places to share the books we bought yesterday with kids who really needed them from 1st grade through 5th, when we were done with that and our quick lunch at Mazzio's we visited the Devon Enery Corp. Records Buildingk to learn asbout how their system worked which was really cool because of all the technology and friendly people.

Today was extremely fun if they do the sames things as this next year i will have many books. On Wendsday you should go to a bookstore called boards bookstore and you get three books under ten dollars for elementary kids, and one for yourself under ten dollars.You also visit a library with glass floors, the OU collage library, and the Oklahoma Weather Center(OKWC).
You should bring your own money for yourself and save it for the bookstore because they have almost every book you can think of and more great looking books but it can be pricy if you get only hardback(look for books you want in paperback) 4 books in hardback cost me $77.95!!!!!!!

Day 3

Today we had to ake up at 7:00 am Then we went to OU library. We got to tour the library then we went to Sam noble museum. Then we went to the weather station. Then we went to Borders and got a lot of books!!!! tdasy waz awesome

Today was really fun!! first we went 2 OU which was fun except for the fact I'm an OSU fan!!!!!!!!! Then we went 2 this Geology library which was okay...but maps aren't really my biggest interest...next we went 2 the fine arts museum which was awesome!! you should totally go! we also went 2 the weather center which i really enjoyed except 4 the fact we hardly ever sat down so my legs were hurting... my absolute favorite part was going 2 Borders Bookstore! we got 2 buy 3 books for a school and 1 for ourselves!

3rd Day of IMC

OK, so day 3 already. Halfway through the week. Today we went to Norman basically. It was interesting still. No matter how many times I have seen the Bizzell library I always like it more and more every time I go. You can never get enough of that old book smell. Then we went to the Geology library on OU. I liked the topographic maps. The Weather Center was a frag though. The lady that was showing us around wasn't very...fun (for lack of better words) to listen to. I didn't find that part of the trip very exciting.

We also went to Borders to purchase books for younger reader's. I liked this part of the trip the best. I picked out 4 books for elementary school children, and then one fore myself. It came out to a total (from all campers) of over 1000 donated books to the Weed and Seed foundation. I felt like I helped out. The book I bought was on the Salem Witch Trials (of course) and was non-fiction. Yes, boring right. Haha...no.

Last night we listened to an author speak about Oklahoman Women; very moving and inspiring.

The Third Day of IMC

The third day of IMC, we went to Oklahoma University to tour the libraries there. After touring and lunch at the University's cafeteria, we went to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History; home of the largest complete dinosaur skull found(it belonged to a Pentoceratops, related to the Triceratops.) After Sam Noble's we went to "Borders" bookstore to choose books for a local elementary. It was another fun and tiring day.

Hey, Today we went to the Moore library again, and we are working on a skit and got to do more job shadowing. It was fun. Then this afternoon we went to borders books. Well I'm done writing for today so Cya!!!! :)

'Ello again everyone it's Day 3 this time and what fun it was, visiting The Great reading room and the Bizzel Library at OU and being able to visit the Nat'l Weather Center. After all of it we were give a $1200 ($40 per person) to buy 3 books for Elementary school kids and 1 book for ourselves at Borders Book Store.

2nd Day: Medline

Medline is a database of medical health information. You can look up all different types off information on different deceases and watch videos on surgical procedures. The videos are about an hour long and I am guessing are quite gruesome but may be fun to watch anyways. I can't wait to go look it up at a different time or when I get back home. I wanna look at the teen health page as well. That seems like is holds a lot of information that could be valuable in the near future. Like college or somthing.

it was fun when we went to the library for the blind, because we got to see how the blind reads and how they do daily stuff

Day 2

Today we went to the Library for the blind and physically handicapped. It was really interesting and there were thousands of tapes. After that, we went to the Moore public library, took a tour, then did job shadowing. I was in the children's department, and I got to check in new books. After that, we went to the Warren Theater Diner. It was really yummy, and the theater was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Then we went back to the library and did wiki. we created a wikipedia account and found out how to edit the pages. Today was really fun. I cant wait for tomorrow.

Day 2

Hey, Today is the second day, and we went to the Library for the Blind and Handicaped then afterwards we went to the Moore Library and I got to shadow a librarian. It was so much fun, and afterwards we went to lucnh at the Warren Theatere Diner which was really good and really cool. lol :)

Second Day of IMC

Today, we've gone to several libraries across Oklahoma City. After breakfast we went to a library for the blind and visually imapared. There they audio books with extensive recordings amd even a typewriter for the blind. Later we traveled to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and toured their exhibit and library. The last special library we went to was a Medical library open to the public. I'm really glad I had the oppurtunity to particpate in all the activities we've had today.

Day 2

Today waz sooo cool!!!!!!!!! We got to go to the Medical library at OU. I liked the models that we saw. Did anyone figure out what waz wrong w/ the portrait??? I waz branded a nerd because I explained the difference between A genetic and viral disease in big words..... I enarly cried at the Memorial we went to aren't the little shoes soo sad to look at???? I thought the view from the suvivor tree area waz soo cool it is soo preety but in a haumntiung way. Bye 4 now!!!!

2nd Day of IMC and more of the 1st Day

OK, well more from yesterday. We also went to the capitol which I had seen before but we got to see the Senate Chamber which was rather interesting. The compact shelving in the library at the capitol building you had to move apart manually. It wasn't hard. Rather fun...not that I did do that or anything, but if I had. :) We also went to the State Library which I didn't really like. Most of there stuff isn't open to the public and since I don't want to work for the government (Like that that is) I will never see that information so why should I care?

Today we went to the Library for the Blind. The Braille books were interesting, and fun to touch and look at. I would have liked them better if I could read them. But fortunately I am not blind so I don't need to restrict myself to dots on pages. Then we went to the bombing memorial from 1995. I cried. Yes, I did. It was sad. 19 kids won't grow up to become lawyers or doctors or engineers. So that was depressing. We also went to the OU medical library. I got to see a book that was over 400 years old. That made me happy. They had a little hunt for us that was fun to figure out and do. Then we looked at the painting of the founder of the library. Find out what is wrong with his picture and you get a cookie. (not really).

Can't wait till tomorrow!!! It will be fun.

So Day 2 has come and past and there wasn't anything too exciting today, although We saw another Archive at the Murrah Building Bomb site memorial Which was really cool because we saw a lot of things from the site itself and things the people had left behind for the victims and Deceased. It's great just to tell everyone about this camp and what we are doing here.

Today we went to see several public libraries. It was fun being able to talk to the librarians at Moore Library. We went to eat at some place by a movie theater. The camp has so far been just as fun as last year.
